French Garden Design

Course Contents:

A day of indulgence where you will find yourself taken aback, back to the French Baroque when French Garden Design reached its crescendo. The day will feature a history of passion and tragedy as well as fabulous French gardens; Giverny, Versailles, Chateaux Villandry, Chantilly and Vaux le Vicomte.

You will leave the day realizing how much this period has influenced our current thinking on what is a garden, ready to create some French inspired design in your own garden.

Practical Component:

Outside, in the nursery you will be able to identify plants suitable for espalier, topiary and hedging. Inside, you will have a chance to do some designing for your own maison.
